We are looking for enthusiastic and disciplined Software Engineers to grow our development team. They will be part of the whole development process, from feature requests, ideas, architecture, design, implementation to the final satisfaction of seeing thousands of users enjoying their new code. The position is R&D-based and offer both freedom and high quality team work.

CFEngine Development team consists of highly motivated experts who work on two main areas: Core and Front-end. The Core Developers design and implement the CFEngine core, written in C, which consists of both the Community Edition and its commercial extensions, such as CFEngine Nova.

  • The Community Edition is a free and open-source software, licensed under the GPL 3 and installed on millions of hosts worldwide. It is discussed on a very active forum, mailing lists and many blog entries, which brings a spotlight on the Core developers.
  • CFEngine's commercial extensions are designed to bring real business value to its users, so that customers will be keen to pay for this value. This requires developers to understand the challenges faced by the wide range of companies we support ? some conservative, some modern ? and efficiency, creativity and innovation in every line of code we write.

Going forward, CFEngine development will be aimed at configuring the network infrastructure itself, including routers to bring integrated management to the whole IT infrastructure. Management of mobile and embedded clients is a further application for which CFEngine is uniquely suited for given its efficiency. The position is based in Oslo.
